Thankful

BEGINNING THANKFUL

In this year of drama, I’m finding remembering to be thankful, is so very important.  So I’m going to list them, or at least try and maybe not in order, but here goes.  I’m thankful for my parents, Dad turning 90 and Mom to turn 88 in April.  They are well and living in their own home that they had built for their growing family 60 years ago, the house I grew up in.  I’m thankful for my brothers and sister and their families.  They are all well and making the best out of this pandemic.  I’m thankful for my 2 boys, I love them to pieces and to Jenna, Jesse’s, my oldest, significant other.  I’m thankful for Bill, my significant other, for his support, love and friendship.  I’m thankful for Bill’s kids and the two grandchildren.  I’m thankful for my extended family, cousins, friends, business partners the list goes on.  I’m thankful for the organizations that I am a part of and the great work they do.  Rotary, The Otherloop Theater Group, The Chamber, Think Local, BNI and others.  When I start to count all the people I know and the friendships both new and old, I realize I’m so blessed to have all of them in my life.

I am also thankful for my life’s journey.  At times it seemed I wouldn’t be able to live through it.  The struggle of work, to raise a family, a difficult divorce and trying to make it on my own.  I now work full time as an artist, working for myself, after years and years in Sales in corporate America.  I couldn’t be happier.  Sometimes a little stressed but I now get to use my sales skills for me rather than for a company that could care less.  Yes, I have had to do more with less but again that is a blessing.  Appreciating what you have instead of looking at what you do not have.  This pandemic has helped me realize how very fortunate I am and how truly blessed I am.
