It's been a minute

Well, it has been a minute.  But one thing has not changed, I love portrait work.  I love capturing, not just the likeness of the person I am painting, but the story behind it. This portrait is an image I captured while waiting for a train in Boston.  The station was busy as it usually is, the hustle and bustle of all kinds of people going here and there for all kinds of reasons. I was waiting to get back home when this woman plopped down in a seat across from me.  You could tell she had an attitude, people moved away from her when she sat, and then she pulled out her knitting.  I do not know about you but knitting for me is associated with lovely old ladies drinking tea and talking about the weather.  She was dressed in goth, had piercings in odd places she was knitting with light pink and white yarn, quite a juxtaposition of color and ideas.  I had to paint it.  I am on a mission to paint more this kind of work.
