I Love Color!!!

Now come for a walk with me.  Since COVID hit I have been walking almost every day.  My favorite place to walk is Laudholm Farm in Wells. Maine.  You start up at the main house and walk the path down to the beach.  When I first started walking there this year, winter still held a firm grasp on the area.  It’s amazing the change in color just over a few months.  Color changes with the seasons not just in the foliage which you expect but the sky, the clouds, the light and shadows.  I watched the sky change from a somber purple tint to a happy Cerulean blue of spring.  Have you ever really watched the seasons change day to day?  Watched the lifeless branches begin again to breathe again.  Red touches the ends and they grow till the green can’t stay hidden anymore and bursts out.  The green that emerges is so vibrant and new.  For me it’s the most beautiful green in the world, put it next to that sparkling blue sky, stunning!  I could look at it all day. As I walked everyday down to the beach I tried to see just the color.  The color in the sky, the variation.  The sky has so many blues in it even on a clear day. Sometimes it starts with pale blue at the horizon and move up to vibrate Cerulean.  You don’t have to have a storm coming or a sunrise to see the beautiful colors in the sky.  Different times of the year the sky’s colors are different.  A colder blue in the winter, a warmer blue in the summer and a mix in the spring and fall.  Next time you are out look up and see the sky. Sometimes the sky is filled with clouds.  They are full of color too.  No, clouds are not just white.  If you look at clouds there is very little just plain white in them at all color is all over the spectrum.  Yellow, blue, green, purple and not just at sunset, all the time.  It’s amazing all the colors and the shapes.  The first step for me to go back to oil is seeing again, seeing the color everywhere. Next time you look at the sky, look at the clouds, and see the colors.  It’s amazing.   ~
